In-Hospital Diagnostic Service:
Our in-house laboratory allows us to diagnose our patient’s illnesses more quickly and more accurately, allowing us to administer appropriate treatment faster than ever before. The diagnostic services provided by our in-house laboratory include: blood cell counts and morphology, automated blood chemistry analysis, urinalysis, cytology/microscopy, patient side blood testing (snap test) for heartworm, tick borne disease, feline leukemia and immunodeficiency virus and parvovirus.
We utilize the services of independent certified laboratories for our send-out laboratory needs.
Radiography (x-ray) imaging and radiographic interpretation are essential tools for the diagnosis and management of many medical and surgical cases. We are fortunate to have, state of the art, whole-body and dental radiography systems for our patient’s diagnostic workups. Your pet’s digital radiographic studies take only minutes to process and with a few strokes of the keyboard can be copied to disc or forwarded by e-mail when a specialist consultation is in order.
For our dog breeder clients, we provide hip and elbow imaging for submission the Orthopedic Foundation of America (O.F.A) for certification of breeding animals.
Our fiber optic endoscope is useful for minimally invasive examination and biopsy of the upper gastrointestinal and colonic lining and for nonsurgical/minimally invasive retrieval of some gastrointestinal foreign bodies.
Our rigid video otoscopy allows detailed examination and treatment of the external ear canal, ear drum and middle ear cavity. It has utility for some nasal and urogenital examinations too.
