Cardiology services are provided by Dr. Paul Kaplan and Dr. Josh Gidlewski of New England Veterinary Specialists (NEVS). Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Gidlewski are diplomats of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), with a subspecialty in cardiology.
Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Gidlewski see cardiology and ultrasound consultation cases referred by veterinarians from all over northern New England and eastern Canada.
Services provided by NEVS at the Russell Animal Hospital include but are not limited to cardiac examinations and echocardiography; abdominal ultrasound imaging and interpretation; ultrasound guided minimally invasive biopsy and aspirate sampling; and pericardiocentisis.
Our staff is here to assist you with your questions about your pet’s behavior, house training, excessive barking, separation anxiety etc. Referrals to specially trained veterinary behaviorists are available as needed.
We offer all new puppy owners a complimentary puppy visit with Helen Nicholls, a certified dog trainer, which allows you to discuss questions and concerns you may have about raising and training a puppy. Helen also holds weekly puppy classes here at our hospital.
We carry a large selection of high quality maintenance and prescription diets for dogs and cats including foods by Hills, Purina, Iams and Royal Canin plus a variety of nutritional supplements.
